Executive Officer, 329th Combat Sustainment Support Battalion
Major Benjamin L. Young is a highly decorated senior officer in the United States Army Reserve with over 21 years of dedicated service. Currently serving as the Executive Officer for the 329th Combat Sustainment Support Battalion in Parsons, Kansas, Major Young provides strategic oversight and operational synchronization for the 89th Sustainment Brigade. His career is defined by a unique multidisciplinary expertise spanning Logistics, Finance, and Space Operations.
Inaugural Company Commander, 23rd Space Company: Led the stand-up and operational integration of a new Army Space unit.
Company Commander, 660th Ordnance Company: Commanded the unit during a critical overseas deployment from October 2019 to October 2020.
HHC Commander, 96th Sustainment Brigade: Managed headquarters operations for a major sustainment command.
Detachment Commander, 395th Financial Management Support Unit: Directed fiscal operations and financial support detachments early in his commissioned career.
A distinguished member of the Army’s technical elite, Major Young is a Space Operations Officer and holds the Basic Space Badge. He has completed advanced training through the U.S. Space Force in orbital operations and space targeting. Additionally, he is a Certified Defense Financial Manager (CDFM) and holds a Level 2 DoD Financial Management Certification, reflecting his expertise in complex government fiscal systems.
