Major Benjamin Young, CPA, (b. 1986) is a strategic leader with over 21 years of experience across the military, space, and financial sectors. Following a successful tenure as the Financial Controller for Noorda College of Osteopathic Medicine, where he achieved consecutive clean audits for a $165M asset base, Benjamin now provides fractional CFO and strategic oversight services to complex organizations. Concurrently, he is a Major in the U.S. Army Reserve, where he serves as the Battalion Executive Officer (XO) for the 329th CSSB.
As a Certified Public Accountant (CPA) and Certified Valuation Analyst (CVA), Benjamin specializes in complex organizational financial management. At Noorda-COM, he oversees a $165M asset base and $45M in annual revenue, recently leading a mission-critical migration to the Intuit Enterprise Suite and ensuring three consecutive years of clean audits. His background includes audit and valuation roles at FORVIS, where he managed SOC 1 and financial statement audits for a diverse portfolio of clients. I am proud to serve as a member of the UACPA Pipeline Committee, working to support the future of the accounting profession in Utah.
In his military capacity, Major Young is a qualified FA40 Space Operations Officer. He has been a pioneer in the U.S. Army Reserve space domain, notably serving as the Inaugural Company Commander for the 23rd Space Company. His technical leadership was recognized by the Air, Space, and Missile Defense Association (ASMDA), and he led the first team in the 6th Space Company’s history to achieve the rigorous Table 8 Certification.
Benjamin holds dual Master of Science degrees, graduating Summa Cum Laude in both Business Administration and Space Systems Operations Management. He has been honored as the UACPA Student of the Year and remains an active member of the professional accounting and defense communities.
